Frozen Ever After is a ride that was recently added to the park of EPCOT and when I say recently I mean in 2016 where it was changed from the Maelstrom ride to Frozen Ever After because even though the Nordic ride was a fun one EPCOT needed something more. Since Disney attributed Frozen to being in the Norwegen area the ridero was changed to Frozen Ever After. It is a ride for all ages since there is no minimum height requirement.
In the queue you’ll see parts of what appear to be the town of Arendelle where Elsa and Anna reside. This ride is a nice boat ride throughout the Frozen world where you’ll meet many of the characters you know and love from the movies. This ride also offers a fast pass plus queue which is a pass that you can get on your ticket and virtually save your spot in line between that and a one hour window that you’re provided. This is a desirable option since this ride is quite popular and can have a long stand-by line.
The backstory is that this day is a Summer Snow Day Celebration in honor of the day when Anna saved Elsa. Then there is also Oaken’s trading post where you can see Oaken talking about going to Elsa’s Ice Palace on the North Mountain. On this boat ride you’ll first encounter Olaf asking a very familiar question from a song that anyone who’s watched Frozen knows and I’ll give you a hint it’s about snowmen.
Shortly after you’ll pass by Kristof and Sven and Kristof’s family which is a bunch of trolls. Then you’ll head up to the palace and see Olaf again gliding across the ice as well as Anna and Kristof singing a parody of “For the First Time in Forever”. Then you’ll see Elsa singing her famous “Let it Go” where you’ll stop and listen and watch her go. After that you’ll start to move backwards towards the next room where you’ll see her ice palace begin to form. This is an unusual event in Walt Disney World rides. Only 1 other ride will take you backwards. Eventually Marshmellow, the friendly giant snowman as well as a lot of tiny snowmen, known as snowgies, who you’ll recognize from a Disney short where Elsa got a cold and sneezed them into existence are also seen.
Then you’ll stop and turn then you’ll go down a hill into the unknown. Or you’ll see the castle in the distance with fireworks going off as well as parts of Arendelle. Then you’ll see Anna and Elsa with Olaf singing the song that Olaf is best known for which is “In Summer”. Then you’ve reached the end of the ride. After heading through the exit there is also the gift shop where you can shop for all kinds of Frozen like gifts especially since the shop is so big. There are also many items from Norway.
