Incredicoaster by Reece Smith
Favorite Attraction in Pixar Pier
By Reece Smith
Pixar Pier is an area of California Adventure which is located in Anaheim right next to Disneyland. However, it can also be referred to as one of the two parks of Disneyland Los Angeles. As the name suggests Pixar Pier is a place for rides and food themed around Pixar movies such as Toy Story, Incredibles, Coco, Inside Out, Up, Monsters Inc., Ratatouille, Cars, Finding Nemo, and more.
The attraction that I’m talking about is The Incredicoaster which is a nice roller coaster that gives you a giant boost at the start. The start of the ride involves Edna losing Jack Jack and so Dash has to go get Jack Jack and you’re going with him. Then it’s basically a whole story on getting Jack Jack back while you ride the coaster until Jack Jack returns and you get to get off the ride. In the tunnel, Mrs. Incredible is stretched out above you trying to get Jack Jack. Mr. Incredible tries to get Jack Jack by offering him a num, num cookie and Violet also makes an appearance during the ride. It’s an Incredibles family adventure. There is one inversion which is about in the middle of the ride you do one big loop and the only one in Disneyland or California Adventure to go upside down. Because of the inversion, a rider must be at least 48 inches tall.
Since it is a popular ride you have the chance to get yourself a fastpass for The Incredicoaster or if you so choose you can go in the single rider lane to also get on the attraction faster. However, you will be split up from your party, if you came with a party that is. The attraction itself is an exhilarating ride that people who love roller coasters will enjoy and those who also like the Incredibles will enjoy it even more so. It takes 3 minutes to complete and is worth every second.
Disney does a good job of immersing you into the ride with the sound coming out of the speakers in the ride and the decorations that are part of the attraction to give you a feel that you’re actually helping get Jack Jack back to the family. The music that is being played is actually from The Incredibles movie. The Incredicoaster is all outdoors so you can still see the rest of Pixar Pier, a little bit of Cars Land, The Pacifc Wharf, and Paradise Gardens Park.
The Incredicoaster wasn’t always called The Incredicoaster. Before that they decided to make Pixar Pier Pixar Pier it was Paradise Pier and The Incredicoaster was California Screamin’. Then they decided to change the area to Pixar Pier and add more Pixar themed rides. Basically nothing of the ride or the land area changed dramatically just how it was decorated and named so that people who knew The Incredicoaster as California Screamin’ can still enjoy it just as a different story.
