The Enchanted Tiki Room

The Enchanted Tiki room is a cool little show that you can watch at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park. You can recognize where this attraction is by its tall tower that looks like an evergreen tree that has brown leaves instead. In this attraction there are birds that sing to you in sync with their movements which may seem like a weird fact to include because pretty much everything does that. However this attraction first debuted in Disneyland in 1963 with this technology which was amazing at the time and paved the way for some classic rides that we all know and love such as “It’s a Small World”, ”Pirates of the Caribbean”, and “Haunted mansion”. Also on a hot day if you want a place to sit down, relax, cool off, and have some fun this is the attraction for you.
It starts at a little hut with a stream coming from the roof until it opens up and a tiki is in there staring at you and the other guests until some birds start talking. They talk about how they welcome you and talk about how they never talked with people until they came to the Sunshine pavilion. They tell the story of how they got there which includes a lion attack, an elephant rampage, scared birds, sly snakes, creepy crocodiles, and a screaming bird. However, their story is cut short when someone speaks up about how it’s showtime and that they’ve been cut short.
Then you head inside to the pavilion and get seated and get the normal spiel of not eating, drinking, flash photography, or smoking while inside and the show is in session. Then a cast member wakes up a bird called Jose and then he converses with two other birds to put on the show. Then they sing a song about the Tiki Room talking about birds singing and talking. After getting the hang of the chorus or lyrics you can sing along with them if you want. Then they stop and some birds come down on what they call the bird mobile in the middle. Then some flowers come from the ceiling and sing a musical luau to all the people and more flowers/plants from around the room eventually join in. Then the music suddenly stops and some drumming starts and the ones playing the drums appear to be small tikis at the top of the room in all four corners. Then everyone joins together to finish it off as they are suddenly cut off by some thunder. Next you see lightning and a volcano in a back corner as everyone starts to go crazy as it rains. Then they talk about how the gods have been angered but they can be calmed down with a song. Then it ends and they tell you that they’re going to do a magic trick which is… you’ll have to find out for yourself whether that’s looking it up and finding out or going and experiencing it yourself. Just know that you won’t be disappointed with your time spent in the Enchanted Tiki Room.
