The Caribbean Beach Resort is an amazing resort for those that are into the Caribbean islands and pirates. When booking a room you can choose to have a standard room or a room that specifically has a pirate design. Part of the pirate design is that the beds look like pirate ships. These are especially cool for young maties. Also with the pirate room you get bandanas and eyepatches to go with you pirate themed room. However if you choose the pirate room just know that you’re the furthest away from Old Port Royale where there’s a giant pool, a restaurant and some relaxation.
There are five separate areas that you can stay at, Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, Trinidad and Aruba, two of which, Aruba and Jamaica, are across a lake and there’s a small area of land in between with a playground and some cool places to look out and see the resort. The brightly colored buildings make you feel like you’re not in Florida any more. The architecture is also unique to the Caribbean.
The pool next to Old Port Royale has a giant fort in it with waterslides and water cannons and the biggest slide is a 82 foot trip through one of the fort's walls into the pool. There's also a smaller area for small kids to have fun with smaller slides and also asks that the children there are 48 inches and under. Every day you can participate in games while you are at the pool and even may win a prize.
In addition to the pool, there are other entertainment options. You can go to a campfire and enjoy the evening with the family relaxing, eating marshmallows or telling stories about the day. Also, you can go to a movie under the stars--a Disney movie, of course. Who knows, it may even be your favorite.
The Caribbean beach resort is one of the few resorts where you can ride the new gondola system to get to Hollywood Studios or Epcot. The gondolas provide a unique perspective of Walt Disney World property and are fun to ride. Also you might see the Riviera Resort next to the gondola system and this is the Caribbean Beach Resorts DVC resort where DVC members can stay at by using their points.
Inside Old Port Royale there’s Sebastian's Bistro where you can get a meal at or Calypso’s Trading Post where there’s pirate themed items that you can buy. Also there’s an arcade where you can play and relax at. For other dining options, you can choose the Spyglass grill which features dishes that make you feel like you are in the Caribbean. Just want a snack or cool drink? Head to the Banana Cabana for adult libations and appetizers. If you don’t want to leave your room, you can order pizza to be delivered.
This amazing resort has beaches all through the resort that connect to the lake separating parts of the resort to add to the feel like you’re really in the Caribbean.
