Walt Disney World is more than just the four main parks of Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, HollyWood Studios, and Epcot there are also two water parks Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach as well as a shopping district called Disney Springs. Blizzard Beach is a water park that’s unlike many because of how it's themed after winter even though it's open in mid winter or early spring to late fall or early winter. However, it's different every year since it switches when it closes with the other water park, Typhoon Lagoon. They try to keep at least one water park open so that any day of the year someone can go to one however it’s weather permitting. Lightning can especially lead to a water park closing. There are even times when Disney feels it is too cold to go to a water park.
Blizzard Beach is a ton of fun if what you're looking for is a great time in the water with a warm sun. Everyone can go to Blizzard Beach but some of the rides have height requirements and that is mostly the ones that make you take the chairlift to attractions in a certain part of the park. These attractions usually have a height requirement of 48 inches except for the Teamboat Springs which is available for anyone of any height with its nickname of the longest family raft ride. I had a great time riding this with my family of 4. Downhill Double Dipper is a side by side racing slide attraction that also requires people to be 48 inches in height. It is a good choice if you are feeling competitive. Except for that everything else allows anyone to ride and enjoy except for tikes peak which is for anyone 48 inches and under. This is a great area when parents want to relax and younger kids want to play.
The one ride that quickly catches everyone's eye is the one at the top with the name of Summit Plummet where you drop down a slide at an almost vertical drop for about 120 feet before coming to a stop. The slide gave a thrilling experience but you might want to hold your nose when going down so as not to get water up your nose at the end. It only takes a few seconds to plummet to the ride of a lifetime.
Also they have a lazy river that goes around the entire park and takes about an hour to get back to where you started. There are 7 locations where you can enter or leave. There’s also Melt Away Bay which is a one acre bobbing wave pool where you can either go towards the giant waves where they start or relax near the shallow waters. Not only that there’s also a fun themed miniature golf course right outside the entrance with a winter and summer theme course that you can play. Overall it's a great place for everyone where you can either relax or get a feel of the thrill.
