EPCOT is a very futuristic place from how it looks and all of the rides are based on the future and electronics. But there is one building that is a little off the beaten path. The building is called The Land. It has two restaurants and two rides. The one that I will be talking about is called Living With the Land.
This ride is not very fast or intense and it will be an enjoyable ride for a break and a very relaxing ride. This ride is rarely a popular boat ride. There are five rows and each row can fit 4 people comfortably. There is also a handicap row that will accommodate anyone that has a wheelchair.
When you start the ride you will float to the first scene and this scene is all about storms. It will tell information throughout the ride and it might be interesting to learn a few things on vacation. All of these scenes will have some 3D like feelings as in you will feel the air and some moisture. It is supposed to be based on the Amazon rainforest. The next area will be in Africa and you will see waterfalls and vegetation and you will be able to see an alligator that is drinking water and there is another one behind it. When you go out of this scene you will enter a scene that is based on a desert and it will show you a dark and sandy looking. After you go through this scene then you will enter the American plains where you will be able to see American bison and there is a calf with the family of bison. When you go a bit farther then you will see some human establishments. This is showing you the American farm and you can see an old looking farm. All of these scenes are able to be seen at the sit down restaurant in The Land that slowly rotates.
When you go a bit farther to see some screens of what the old farmers used to do and overuse the land and make it bad. Then you will see and hear how we are trying to live with the land and not use it so much and destroy it. After you get to see and hear ways that we are trying to live with the land then you get to go out into a glass enclosure which is a greenhouse and you get to see some green plants and trees. You can find different plants like banana trees and some other plants that do not produce fruit. They have scientists that are studying different things to help with our world. You will also be able to see some fish and shrimp and hear about seafood farming. You will get to see how they are growing some plants and how they are making it efficient and they don't use anything unnatural to help make the plants grow and they do use these plants for food at the park. There is a “Behind the Seeds” tour that will show you a few more things and it is very interesting. Living With the Land is a great way to relax and enjoy what our world is like.
